Now, let’s get to know a little more about the remarkable woman behind the artwork and the inspiration for the unique collaboration—Jeny Howorth.

How did you start your modelling career?

My parents were quite laid back, as long as I was happy, they were too. I was discovered in a hair salon on Baker Street when I was 13. So, it was 1979, I was dying my hair green, which speaks volumes about the type of kid I was! The sister of one of the hairdressers ran a modelling agency, and that’s how it all began. I had the privilege of working with amazing artists and photographers like Steven Meisel and Arthur Elgort. Arthur would always tell me I was a great ‘clothes hanger’—which I took as a compliment because that was my job, to make the clothes look good. I learned to really pay attention to how outfits worked in front of the camera, and clients appreciated that.

How did your artistic side develop?

I’ve always been creative. For years, I dabbled in all sorts of artistic ventures. My artistic journey truly began when I started experimenting with collage. I used old magazines from the '70s and turned them into shiny, rock-varnished artworks, even making my own colourful frames. Creating things from scratch has always been a huge part of who I am. Whether it's quilts, art, or something as simple as building a raised bed from scrap wood, I find satisfaction in making something from nothing.

Beyond your career success you’ve built an incredible family, how have these experiences shaped your life and work?

Building a successful career was always important, but more so is my family, though I never really stopped working. I loved being "Mummy" I always liked children, and I wanted to spend time with mine, as much as I can. I was always offered jobs throughout my life, so I just kept going. I am now blessed with grandchildren. In fact, my granddaughter told me the other day that I’m more entertaining than the TV—which I take as a huge compliment!

We had the pleasure of shooting with your daughter Georgia who is also a model, was that a path you encouraged her to follow?

She went into fashion, which is perfect because I can give her tips! And I am very proud of her, she’s creative and passionate and has lots of opportunities going on as well as being very successful in modelling. It’s always such a buzz shooting together, we always have so much fun, which hopefully reflects in the imagery.

What was it like seeing your artwork, your beloved Gloria, and even some of your favourite sayings translated onto cashmere?

It was truly an incredible experience to see my artwork and the things close to my heart translated into something as beautiful and tactile as this cashmere collection. There's something magical about seeing your work in such a unique form—especially when it’s wearable art! And having Gloria, my beloved pug, immortalised on a jumper? Well, that just takes it to the next level. It feels super special because it's not just art on the wall, it's something people can wear, enjoy, and live in.

Was there a particular design that felt closest to your heart? Each of the five pieces feels so personal, but is there one that holds a special place for you?

Each of the designs is connected to a memory or a special part of my life, so it’s hard to pick just one. But if I had to, I’d say the "HOTEL MOTEL" jumper brings back so many fun memories of my childhood, specifically those mornings on the school bus when my friends and I would belt out the words. That design really taps into my nostalgic side. And Gloria, well, of course she’s featured—my little pug is always with me, so it’s only fitting that she’s made it onto a jumper. It’s like combining two of my favourite things: pugs and knitwear! As for "Joker," it resonates because I’m a bit of a joker myself. Laughter has always been a big part of who I am, and I love how that spirit comes through in the collection.

What do you hope people feel when they wear one of your cashmere pieces?

When someone wears one of these cashmere pieces, I hope they feel comfortable in the truest sense—physically and emotionally. Cashmere is such a luxurious fabric, and I want people to feel cocooned in that warmth and softness, like they’re wearing something that makes them feel good in their own skin. But more than that, I want them to feel strong. Each design in this collection tells a story, my story, but it’s also about giving the wearer confidence. There’s power in expressing yourself through what you wear, and I hope these jumpers make people feel both fabulous and fearless.

Why is this collection so unique?

This collection is like a snapshot of my life—each piece holds a snippet of my personal experiences, memories, and quirks. It’s almost like wearing a diary! Every design has meaning, whether it’s a phrase that has stuck with me over the years or Gloria, who’s by my side every day. The fact that these are limited pieces also makes them feel incredibly special. They are intimate creations that are a small piece of my story, wrapped up in Jumper 1234’s beautiful signature style. I think what makes it stand out is that it’s both personal and universal—there’s a bit of my life woven into each jumper, but they’re designed in a way that anyone can connect with and make their own.
